Double Exposure Blackjack

Double Exposure Blackjack is played with eight decks of 52 playing cards that are re-shuffled after each round. In this variation of Blackjack you are only allowed to play one hand at a time, the dealer’s cards are both dealt face up (hence the name “Double Exposure”) and there is no Insurance available. As in other variations, Blackjack always beats any other possible hand, the face cards ( Jacks, Queens and Kings) as well as the 10 card, are valued at ten and Aces can either be one or eleven, and you are allowed to “hit” up to 9 times, for a total of 11 cards, as long as your hand doesn’t exceed 21. If you reach eleven cards without busting, you will automatically stand and it is then the dealer’s turn. As a side note, know that the dealer must hit on a soft 17.

The following two lists will outline the Splitting Rules and the Double Down Rules for Double Exposure Blackjack.

Splitting Rules

1. You are allowed to split any two cards that are of the same denomination, such as a Jack and a King or a pair of fives. Your original hand is split into two hands and a bet of the same value as your original bet is placed on the second hand.

2. If you choose to split two Aces or two cards valued at 10, and then get 21, this is NOT considered a Blackjack.

3. You are able to split Aces in this variation of the game, but once you do split, keep in mind that you are dealt only one card for each and then your hand stands.

4. You can split up to 3 times per round for a total of 4 hands.

Double Down Rules

1. You are able to Double Down when the total value of your hand is 9, 10 or 11.

2. A Double Down bet simply adds a bet of equal value to your original bet.

3. You are allowed to Double Down after a Split.
